Family Dynamics
How We Helped:

This child struggled with a fear and phobia of dogs and flying insects. These were preventing the child from being able to socialise freely.

They also had strong issues with trying new food, didn’t connect with the feelings of being hungry and full, as such, family mealtimes were stressful and parents were understandably worried and concerned.
In addition, there was a reluctant to try new things, confidence and self esteem were also low and this was holding the child back from enjoying otherwise normal childhood experiences like riding a bike or playing outside freely.

Results:
Building a strong rapport with the child and family meant we could work strategically through a carefully constructed plan to address multiple areas according to the pace of the child.
Building confidence and self esteem together with working on emotional intelligence, the child was able to learn new techniques and develop skills to overcome their fears so much so that they can even ride a bicycle now!
Family dynamics have evolved and benefited from the process too. Most importantly, the child now has a broader variety of foods and favourite meals they enjoy eating and is overall happier in life.

Child: “My life is different now. Darpna helped me to understand about risks and challenges.
Now I can visit friends who have dogs.
I can go on more holidays.
I can go and play outside.
I can eat what is given to me.
Darpna was fun and helpful. She explained things well and I would work with her again. I would recommend Darpna as a Practitioner to help other children.”

Parent: “We needed assistance and it was for the whole family too, not just for my child. Being able to talk to someone with a different style was useful. Practical and realistic advice was given.
Darpna was able to connect to our child and provide support and advice that we couldn’t. She supported us too, even ‘out of hours’, which was really encouraging and appreciated. The support to us parents was great! I would use Glow Therapy services again.”
